KENNEL STAFF JOB SUMMARY AND REQUIREMENTS:

The ideal Candidate/staff should be highly motivated, enthusiastic self-starter with a professional attitude. This facility and position is open and operational 12 hours a day, 7 days a week. If a set schedule is required for example, Monday through Friday or opening shifts only, can be accommodated. however, the schedule can change and may occasionally sometimes require weekend or evening hours to complete the job. It Can include working some holidays Candidate must try to be flexible with schedule changes and short notice requests to ensure we can give the best care to the animals left in our care at that time.

Salary/Pay Grade: bases on experience, effort, dedication and motivation

Additional Paid training can be offered to help acquire licenses/certifications

1.)  Basic Requirements

  • Must speak fluent English

  • Must have reliable and effective transportation

  • Able to dress, always look and act in a professional manner

  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a veterinary clinic/hospital/shelter or related facility

 

2.)  Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to work standing, bending sitting or kneeling for 8 or more hours

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the day without help

  • Must be able to work in potentially extreme environmental temperatures

 

3.)  Emotional/Mental Requirements

  • Must be able to work efficiently and effectively under stressful conditions

  • Must be able to cope with animal death and injury

  • The Ability to rapidly and accurately process information or requests from fellow staff, management or clients

  • Ability to work independently and as part of team as required on a day-to-day basis

 

**ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS**

  • Perform daily cleaning of kennels, cages and public areas

  • Clean, fold, and stock kennel laundry throughout the shift

  • Wash/replace/put away dishes

  • Provide Any medications or meals to allocated animals as directed

  • Scoop poop and place in allocated receptacles

  • Walking/playing with animals

  • Possible minor grooming assisting

  • Checking in/out animals

  • Processing payments
